Google’s security guard product, Google Glass, has been an instant hit with the police.
A recent survey by the Pew Research Center found that the Glass wearable device was “a game-changing product for law enforcement and law enforcement agencies in all 50 states, which have embraced it with enthusiasm.”
“It allows law enforcement officers to get up close and personal with suspects in a way that’s not possible on traditional body cameras, and has the potential to dramatically increase transparency and accountability, according to the Pew survey,” said Michael W. Casey, the Pew report’s lead author.
Glass has been a hit among the police, who say that Glass is “one of the most exciting new technologies for policing in a long time.”
In addition to the police department, Google has been working with the Department of Justice and the U.S. Secret Service to develop the Glass app, which is now available to download from the Google Play store.
Google Glass has also been a factor in other major tech companies, including the U, Amazon, and PayPal.
In fact, Amazon announced plans to launch its own version of the Glass product in March 2018, which has been referred to as “Prime Glass.”
Google also announced a partnership with Amazon to develop a version of Glass for Amazon Echo devices.
“Amazon Echo is the first device to enable a more interactive user experience for the Amazon Echo device,” said Google Assistant founder Jay Rubin.
“We’re excited to bring this new feature to the Echo in partnership with Google and the Echo brand.”
The announcement came as Google was also in the midst of developing its own smart speaker, dubbed Google Glass.
According to Google, Glass is the “ultimate tool for connecting your smart home with your home, and bringing the full power of Google Glass to the home.”
