The Social Security Administration is about to let you know that you’re eligible for a refund on your Social Protection.
It’s called the “reimbursement of eligible benefits” and the first step is to apply online.
That means you can’t apply online until Jan. 13, but you’ll have until that date to claim your refund online.
But, you can do it faster than that if you follow a few tips: 1.
Visit your state’s website for more information on eligibility.
Download the online application.
Check out your current benefits, including the amount of benefits you can claim.
Make sure your name is the same as your Social Safety Net account number.
Make a copy of your current Social Security account number and send it to your state.
If you don’t, your state may ask for it. 6.
Pay your taxes and other fees before filing.
Ask your local Social Security office for more help with eligibility.
Check your state for any special deadlines.
If your benefits are already paid, apply online in person.
Be sure to bring your Social Insurance number with you.
